SARAJEVO, Sept 21 (Hina) - The international community's high representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina said on Wednesday he was satisfied with the results achieved thus far in a probe into the murder of Jozo Leutar, deputy interior
minister of BH's Croat-Muslim federation. A multiethnic investigating team did a good job with the recent arrests of several persons justifiably suspected of involvement in the Leutar assassination, said a statement from High Representative Wolfgang Petrisch's Office. It adds Petrisch is also very grateful for the cooperation provided by Croatia's government, and points to the significant role played in the probe by the International Police Task Force and the Stabilisation Force. SARAJEVO, Sept 21 (Hina) - The international community's high
representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina said on Wednesday he was
satisfied with the results achieved thus far in a probe into the
murder of Jozo Leutar, deputy interior minister of BH's Croat-
Muslim federation.
A multiethnic investigating team did a good job with the recent
arrests of several persons justifiably suspected of involvement in
the Leutar assassination, said a statement from High
Representative Wolfgang Petrisch's Office.
It adds Petrisch is also very grateful for the cooperation provided
by Croatia's government, and points to the significant role played
in the probe by the International Police Task Force and the
Stabilisation Force.
The high representative stressed the Leutar assassination
represented a heinous crime, and said his office was willing to
extend support and take measures against those who obstructed the
probe or those who might obstruct court proceedings.
The head of the United Nations Mission to BH Jacques Klein recently
accused part of the leadership of BH's Croatian Democratic Union
(HDZ) party and Bosnian Croat officials in the federal Interior
Ministry of obstructing the Leutar probe.
The party's representatives yesterday refuted the accusations at a
news conference in Mostar. They accused international
organisations active in BH of providing unfounded support to
actions by the Bosnian Muslim component of the federal Interior
Ministry.
Klein said in Sarajevo on Tuesday that Ivan Andabak, a general with
BH's Croat Defence Council who was arrested in Croatia last week for
organising the smuggling of more than 600kg of cocaine, was the
prime suspect in the Leutar assassination.
