Croatian National Bank's Deputy Governor, Boris Vujcic said at
Tuesday's regular session of the committee in charge of cooperation
between the central bank and the Finance Ministry.#L#
Vujcic confirmed his statement quoting the data that July's seven-
percent inflation (compared to July 1999) fell to 6.5 percent in
August.
According to a statement which the Finance Ministry issued after
the session, considering the rise in retail prices, inflation came
to 4.1 percent in June, while it fell to 3.8 in July and to 3.7 in
August.
Participants in the session emphasised that trends in inflation
should carefully be followed in the coming period.
The committee expressed satisfaction with the course of
preparations for a project for the final settlement of the rest of
the state debt in relation to ensured deposits with bankrupt banks,
read the statement.
