This month the Government is to discuss a draft programme for Croatia's economic progress in coming four years and reforms in local self-government and the state administration. Justice Minister Stjepan Ivanisevic said the elaboration of relevant laws and regulations would ensue after a debate on the projects. Interior Minister Sime Lucin maintained that it was very important that a police act be adopted by the end of this year in order that the re-organisation of the Interior Ministry could start. A draft law on this matter has already been forwarded to the Government, he added. Lucin asked at Thursday's session that a draft act on the identity card be launched in a procedure as the equipment and material for the printing and issuance of new ID cards had been staying in storerooms for a few months.
