BELGRADE, Aug 22 (Hina) - A spokeswoman for the UNHCR in Belgrade, on Tuesday said Croatia's authorities had arrested three returnees from Yugoslavia. The spokeswoman Maki Shinohara told a news conference that the three persons had
been apprehended although their return to Croatia was allowed. The spokeswoman for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) expressed concern over such a move of the Croatian authorities which she viewed as "contradictory". She voiced concern for the credibility of the procedure of the return in Croatia, as well. Shinohara, however, stressed the three persons had been arrested for their criminal records and added that the UNHCR maintains that those who commit crime must be brought before justice.
