RIJEKA, Aug 13 (Hina) - Croatia's Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the northern Adriatic coastline, recorded 4.8 million overnight stays in this year's first seven months, 45 percent more than over the same period last year. According to
the county tourist board, three million overnight stays were recorded in July alone, 37 percent more than in July 1999. Foreign tourists accounted for 2.5 million stays, an increase of 86 percent. Slovenes were the most numerous foreigners in July. The northern Adriatic island of Krk recorded the highest number of tourists, over 40,000, followed by the island of Rab and the Crikvenica coastline with some 20,000 guests. (hina) ha
