ZAGREB, Aug 21 (Hina) - Eleven of Croatia's 21 counties towards the end of June marked an increase in the amount of unpaid orders of transfer in comparison to the same period last year, the Money Transfers Bureau said on Monday. The
biggest increase was recorded in Pozega-Slavonia County in eastern Croatia, where the amount rose by 47.6 percent, to 310.4 million kuna (US$37.4 million). The capital of Zagreb recorded the highest amount of unpaid orders of transfer reported at the end of June, 7.7 billion kuna ($927.7 million), 20.2 percent more than in June 1999. The capital's share in the total amount of unpaid orders from all counties is about 34 percent. In comparison to June 1999, the amount of unpaid orders at the end of June dropped in nine counties. in the total amount of unpaid orders from all counties is about 34
percent.
In comparison to June 1999, the amount of unpaid orders at the end of
June dropped in nine counties. Krapina-Zagorje County with 36.1
percent marked the biggest decrease, with the amount reaching
291.05 million kuna ($35.12 million), and is followed by a 24.2
percent drop recorded by Sibenik-Knin County, with 443.7 million
kuna ($53.46 million) in unpaid orders of transfer.
Split-Dalmatia County was the only Croatian county to retain the
same amount of unpaid orders of transfers as in June 1999, namely
1.9 billion kuna.($228.9 million).
In comparison to data reported at the end of last year, a
significant decrease in unpaid orders of transfer was recorded in
16 counties, with Krapina-Zagorje County marking the biggest
decrease, of 47.2 percent.
