Prime Minister Ivica Racan ended their visit to the United States on
Thursday with a working lunch with members of the American-Croatian
Association. Attending the event were also several distinguished
current and former US officials.
Mesic, Racan and other members of the Croatian state delegation
visiting the United States were welcomed by the Association's
president, a former ambassador, Thomas Patrick Melady. The
association gathers about 200 distinguished Americans from the

Mesic expressed gratitude for the welcome and good wishes and held a
short speech on the main guidelines of Croatia's policy.
Attending the event, along with members of the American-Croatian
Association, were US Ambassador to Croatia William Montgomery, a
former US Ambassador and current vice-president of Bechtel
company, Charles Redmann, and the president and executive director
of MPRI company, general Carl Vuono.
The Croatian state delegation returns to Zagreb around noon on
Friday.
