MOSTAR MOSTAR, Aug (Hina) - US diplomat Daniel Simpson on Monday officially took over the office of new director of Mostar's Office of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Bosnia-Herzegovina,
succeeding Gary Mathes, who took over a new office in Brcko three months ago. Introducing Simpson, the head of the OSCE Mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Robert Barry, said Simpson had worked at the US National University for Defense. He worked in Bulgaria and participated in resolving some of the most problematic conflicts, such as those in Somalia, Lebanon and Zaire. According to Barry, Simpson takes over this office in Mostar at a time which is crucial for the city, when positive processes headed by Mayor Safet Orucevic and his deputy Neven Tomic are taking place. Simpson's arrival in Mostar is also important because of the upcoming autumn elections in the country, Barry said.(hina) rml
