SECOND MOTOVUN FILM FESTIVAL BEGINS

MOTOVUN, Aug 2 (Hina) - The Istrian town of Motovun is hosting the second international film festival, which was open on Tuesday evening. During this cultural event that will last by 5 August, the audience can watch 82 documentaries and features films from a score of countries. The international jury should select the best movie out of 14 ones that will be presented within the central, competitive, programme. The best film will be awarded by "Motovun's Propeller". The best documentary will receive an award from Austrian "Syncro Studio" whereas the best cameraman of the documentary will get an award from the "Kodak" company. During Tuesday's opening ceremony, local authorities addressed the gathered. On that occasion the film director, Boris T. Matic, said the concept of this year's festival would be the same as the last year. On the first night "Shower" by Chinese director Zhang Jyang and "East is East" by Briton Damien O'Donell were presented. In the audience were EU Ambassador to Croatia, Per Vinther, a few Croatian ministers and other public figures. (hina) ms
