Granic, and an Israeli delegation, headed by Deputy Israeli Prime

According to him, Croatia and Israel should begin negotiations on a
free trade agreement this autumn.
Granic expressed satisfaction with successful talks he held with
Israeli officials and mutual attempts to promote political and
economic relations between the two countries.
"We not only expect the abolishment of visas, but also negotiations
on free trade, avoiding double taxation and the beginning of
drafting a cooperation programme between the two countries",
Granic stressed.
"I believe that a new page in cooperation has been turned", he
added.
Ahead of the beginning of official talks, Granic and Levy signed a
trade and economic cooperation agreement and an agreement on the
mutual stimulation and protection of investment.
A part of the Croatian delegation is expected to meet Israeli Deputy
defence Minister Ephraim Sneh. the delegation is scheduled to be
present at the inauguration of new Israeli President Moshe Katsav,
which is to take place in the Israeli parliament (Knesset).
