PRESIDENT MESIC ARRIVES IN BRUSSELS

BRUSSELS BRUSSELS, July 17 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic arrived in Brussels on Monday for an official two-day visit to NATO, the European Union, and Belgium and talks on Croatia's further approaching the EU and NATO, and intensifying relations with Belgium. President Mesic began his first visit to Brussels by holding talks with NATO Secretary-General George Robertson at NATO's headquarters. Following the Robertson talks, the Croatian President will attend an extraordinary NATO session where he is to address mission chiefs of NATO's member-states. NATO holds its regular session Wednesdays, but convened an extraordinary one today due to Mesic's visit. According to unofficial information, the Croatian President and NATO ambassadors are to address Croatia's further approaching NATO after joining the Partnership for Peace in May, and the situation in the region.
