About 25,000 vehicles, mostly from the Czech Republic, Slovakia,
Hungary, Austria and Slovenia passed last night and this morning
along the Plitvice and Rijeka roads and the Duga Resa and Josipdol
roads toward the coastal region, the Karlovac police reported.
The Karlovac traffic police reported that traffic today was much
lighter than the last weekend.
All eight road toll booths were open this morning at the exist of the
Zagreb-Karlovac highway whereas vehicles travelling toward Zagreb
were entering the highway in four lanes.
There were minor delays on the Plitvice road near Turanj, Slunj,
Rakovica and Plitvice and vehicles were driving in longer lines at a
speed of 70 kph.
Some 30 police officers of the Karlovac police department were
regulating traffic and Interior Ministry helicopters reported
occasional delays.
The Karlovac traffic police have recommended to drivers to use less
travelled roads toward the coast - Duga Resa-Josipdol-Senj, the
state road D3 toward Rijeka and Crikvenica, and the road
Jasterbarsko-Ozalj-Netretic-Vukova Gorica and further toward
Rijeka.
