ZAGREB, July 7 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic on Friday received the coordinator of the Southeast European Cooperative Initiative (SECI) and commissioner of the Austrian Government for the expansion of the European Union,
Erhardt Busek. Busek is participating in a seminar on the implementation of projects of economic importance being held in the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. In a short statement after the talks, Busek told reporters the European Union was interested in Croatia's joining, and wished to provide all necessary help in the fulfilling of conditions for joining the European Union. I would also like to state clearly that the Austrian Federal Government is pro the expansion of the European Union, Busek said and added it was in Austria's best interest that the European Union be expanded.(hina) it
