CRO FOREIGN MINISTER: CROATIA WILL ASSIST DEMOCRATIC FORCES IN FRY

COPENHAGEN, July 5 (Hina) - Croatia has made plans to, primarily via media, assist forces which could implement democratic changes in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY), Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula said in Copenhagen Wednesday. Picula is a member of a Croatian delegation headed by Prime Minister Ivica Racan which is in a two-day official visit to Denmark. "There are draft plans in line with which Croatia would help groups in the FRY which could implemented some democratic changes", Picula told reporters after talks with president of the Danish parliament's committee for European issues Klaus Larsen Jensen. He said the plans primarily included media support to democratic changes in Serbia as well as cooperation via non-governmental organisations and institutions of a civil society. "Primarily, the presence in media must be strengthened in order to send messages of a democratic Serbia to TV audience", Picula said. He said Croatia would also encourage the democratisation of Montenegro, which it already started by a recent series of talks with Montenegrin officials. The Croatian Foreign Minister stressed the realisation of a final goal of Croatia's engagement would be determined by the seriousness of the international community. (hina) it
