ZAGREB, June 30 (Hina) - The International Court of Justice (ICJ) this week extended deadlines for filing elaboration of Croatia's suit against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia for the violation of the convention on genocide, the
ICJ headquarters in The Hague reported Friday. At a session held in The Hague June 27, the ICJ Council extended the deadline until March 14, 2001, by which Croatia should file a so-called memorial, while Belgrade should reply by September 16, 2002. The extension was done at the request of Croatia. On July 2, 1999 Croatia started a procedure before the ICJ against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia due to violations of the convention from 1948 on the prevention and punishment of crimes of genocide committed in Croatia between 1991 and 1995.(hina) it
