ZAGREB, July 3 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic on Monday met Professor Robert Mundell, the 1999 Nobel-prize winner in economics, the President's Office reported. Mesic and Mundell discussed preparations for the integration of
countries in transition into the European monetary union, both from the aspect of the exchange-rate policy and free movement of capital. The President today also received Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko, Poland's former finance minister and deputy prime minister. Mesic and Kolodko discussed transition recession, a topic Professor Kolodko is an expert on.
