ZAGREB, June 29 (Hina) - PEN Croatian Centre on Thursday joined those opposing the privatisation of Croatian Radio Third Channel, which broadcasts programmes in science and culture. The PEN calls on parliamentary representatives to
consider their responsibility and not allow the channel to be jeopardised by the interests of profit, read a statement signed by PEN Croatian Centre president Slobodan Prosperov Novak. This was concluded at yesterday's session of the Centre's steering committee. The PEN believes the Croatian Radio Third Channel meets the principles and practice of public media systems in European and trans-Atlantic countries.(hina) jn rml
