ZAGREB, June 28 (Hina) - The House of Representatives on Wednesday started a debate on the final bill on changes to the Law on Children's Allowance, according to which the children of unemployed persons, trades people and farmers
would, too, receive allowances as of September 1 this year. The changes are aimed at eliminating errors due to which some Croatian citizens have been put in an unequal position, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Davorko Vidovic said. According to the bill, every child will receive the same allowance, regardless of how many children a family has. It is estimated that the bill will include an additional 200,000 children, for whom some 130 million kuna will have to be secured, Vidovic said. The families receiving children's allowances are divided into two groups, according to their income. Following Vidovic's presentation, parliamentary benches voiced their opinion on the bill.(hina) r
