ZAGREB, June 16 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic on Friday departed aboard a presidential aeroplane for a two-day visit to Albania during which he will meet Albania's President Rexep Meidani, parliament president and prime
minister. "For us, the visit to Albania is especially important because it is a politically sensitive area, and we want all countries in our surroundings to meet European standards as soon as possible," President Mesic told reporters prior to departure. "Therefore I am going to Albania with messages that we shall support them on their path to Europe, but we also expect them to come closer to us," he added.
