OSIJEK, June 6 (Hina) - The Association of Croatian returnees (ZPH) on Tuesday called on the Government to prevent the eviction of displaced persons, accommodated in a hotel, who have no conditions to return to their homes. The ZPH
suggests that the priority in the reconstruction of homes should have exiled persons accommodated in hotels. Until the reconstruction is realised, the ZPH suggests that vice-premier Zeljka Antunovic prevent the harassment of Homeland war victims, or the ZPH will have to undertake activities to effectively protect the refugees. ZPH president Josip Kompanovic recalled that during a protest of Vukovar displaced persons accommodated in Zagreb's "International" hotel, Antunovic had pledged they would not be forcefully evicted, and an inter-party group of MPs suggested the Lower House make a decision committing the Government to prevent such evictions.(hina) lml jn
