OSIJEK-BARANJA RETURNEES: GREATER SERBIAN IDEA NOT YET DEFEATED

OSIJEK, June 5 (Hina) - Croatian displaced persons organised in the association of returnees to east Croatia said the public should be warned that "the Greater Serbian idea in Croatia has not yet been defeated", in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek Monday evening. The Greater Serbian idea is a "permanent danger which is threatening to destabilise the Croatian political being", the association concluded. President of the Association of Croatia's Returnees (ZPH) Josip Kompanovic said that the claim was confirmed by recent requests of the Serb National minority in Istria to equalise their rights with the Italian minority as well as the proposal of president of the Serb People's Party Milan Djukic to establish four separate cantons. Kompanovic believe that the cantons "are exactly on the line Virovitica-Karlobag, which remained in certain heads even after the war". In line with Greater Serbian plans, this is the western border of the greater Serbia from the Adriatic Sea to the Hungarian border. (hina) it jn
