ZAGREB, May 31 (Hina) - Retail prices in Croatia in March this year increased by 0.9 percent in relation to the month before and by 5.5 percent in relation to March last year. Retail prices in the first three months of 2000 increased
by 5.1 percent in comparison to the same period last year, the State Bureau for Statistics reported. The highest increase in retail trade (16 percent) in March this year, in relation to March last year, was registered by shops selling furniture, lighting equipment, household appliances, radio and TV sets, iron goods, paint and glass. The highest decrease in trade was registered by shops selling pharmaceutical and medical products, cosmetics and toiletries (10.6 percent). The nominal increase in the turnover in retail trade in March this year, compared to February, was 15.2 percent, whereas the real increase was 14.2 percent.(hina) rml
