The unionists proposed that the Croatian national parliament consider and define the occupation of mine removal experts with all fringe benefits and increased financial means for this job. The union accentuated that it would be necessary to carry out the mine clearance in areas before reconstruction and the return of refugees and displaced people are planned. This job should be done at the first stage of the return process as there are many unidentified mine fields in war-stricken towns and villages. They informed the President Office's representatives that mine removal caused 1515 casualties in the post-war period. Considering this fact and the importance of this job, the unionist requested the President's Office to exert influence on executive authorities in order to help improve their status. (hina) jn ms
