ZAGREB, May 25 (Hina) - During this year's tourist season, Croatia is expected to have between US$3.2 and US$3.5 billion of foreign exchange earnings, namely 25 percent more than the year before. According to some estimates, about 40
percent more guests than in 1999 visited Croatia over this years Easter and Labour Day holidays, so tourism official can be optimistic about this years main tourist season, Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) officials said Thursday. HKG officials stressed that a poor occupancy rate is the result of the fact that tourist season in Croatia lasts only two months ( July and August). They suggest that the tourist season should last longer, however, in that case the tourist product should be updated.
