ZAGREB, May 20 (Hina) - High-school graduates in the Croatian
capital on Friday passed through the city and the city's trams like
a storm. Celebrating their last day in secondary schools called
"Norijada" what means tomfoolery, pupils damaged about a score of
trams.#L#
According to a report police issued late last night, the most
frequent target of high-school graduates' attacks were window
glasses, lamps, ticket machines and handrails in trams.
Zagreb Emergency offered medical aid to 22 drunk pupils, while the
accident hospital treated four participants in the tomfoolery.
Three of them suffered from minor injuries and one had his nose
broken.
"Norijada" is a long tradition in Zagreb but old citizens assert
they could not remember its characteristics which this event has
assumed with years.
Besides damaging trams, other activities during the tomfoolery are
to throw flour and water on passers-by and other students, and bathe
in the city's fountains. Fortunately, most of revellers are only
very loud and harmless.
