ZAGREB, April 27 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Thursday adopted a constitutional bill on changes to the Constitutional Law on Human Rights and Freedoms and the Rights of Ethnic and National Communities or Minorities. Among other
things, the bill explicitly mentions the existing national minorities in Croatia and puts out of force those regulations whose application is groundless under the current circumstances (counties with special status), the Government's Public Relations Office said. The Government also adopted a bill on the cessation of validity of the Law on the Financial Rehabilitation and Restructuring of Banks. The purpose of the bill is to shift responsibility for possible difficulties in banking operations to the banks' managements, supervisory boards, owners and institutions for the supervision of banks. adopted a constitutional bill on changes to the Constitutional Law
on Human Rights and Freedoms and the Rights of Ethnic and National
Communities or Minorities.
Among other things, the bill explicitly mentions the existing
national minorities in Croatia and puts out of force those
regulations whose application is groundless under the current
circumstances (counties with special status), the Government's
Public Relations Office said.
The Government also adopted a bill on the cessation of validity of
the Law on the Financial Rehabilitation and Restructuring of Banks.
The purpose of the bill is to shift responsibility for possible
difficulties in banking operations to the banks' managements,
supervisory boards, owners and institutions for the supervision of
banks. According to the current law, tax payers are carrying the
burden of financial rehabilitation of banks.
The Government also decided to start the second phase of
privatisation of the Croatian Telecom d.d. and establish a
commission for the privatisation of public companies.
Another member - foreign exchange inspector - has been appointed to
the Government's Co-ordination for Fighting Economic Crime.
