ZAGREB, April 18 (Hina) - "I am sorry about such a result of the vote, but the Sabor has the right to vote the way it deems best," Croatian National Bank (HNB) Governor Marko Skreb said on Tuesday after the House of Representatives
refused to support reports on HNB's operation in 1998 and the first half of 1999. Skreb said that he would soon call a session of the HNB Council, at which the new situation would be considered, and after which the public would be informed about the Council's conclusions. Asked whether he would resign, which was what most lower house deputies demanded at today's session, Skreb said he had drawn "some very clear conclusions from the debate," but refused to give a more precise comment.(hina) mm rml
