Antonini on using good political relations for promotion of cooperation in economy, infrastructure and culture. According to European Integration Ministry, the Venezia-Friuli-Giulia region showed great interest in cooperating with Zagreb in projects of the joint interest. Emphasis was put on projects the Italian region was carrying out in the war-hit eastern Croatian areas to help them recover. Minister Jakovcic suggested that Venezia-Friuli-Giulia include a project of joint control over north Adriatic ports of Rijeka, Kopar and Trieste and the construction of a road from Trieste to the Croatian largest seaport of Rijeka into the EU INTEREG III programme. According to European Integration Ministry, the Venezia-Friuli-
