EBRD INTERESTED IN UTILITY PROJECTS IN ZAGREB

ZAGREB ZAGREB, March 29 (Hina) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which is financing two major projects in Zagreb - the reorganisation of Zagreb's central waste disposal site and the construction of a central waste water-filtering system - has shown considerable interest in other projects involving utility standards. This primarily refers to financing the improvement of traffic infrastructure and organisation in Zagreb, Government Commissioner for the City of Zagreb Josip Kregar told reporters on Wednesday. Kregar said he had a meeting yesterday with the EBRD director for Croatia, who informed him that the Bank would support projects of privatisation of some utility services and try to find new forms of financing the expansion of the city, not only through loans but also through joint investments. Kregar stressed the European bankers were satisfied with works on the waste water
