COMMISSION FOR RELATIONS WITH RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES HOLDS SESSION

ZAGREB, April 7 (Hina) - The Croatian Government Commission for relations with Religious Communities on Friday held its first session, the Government's Public and Media Relations Office said in a statement. Besides Commission members the session was attended by representatives of the Catholic Church, Serb Orthodox Church, Jewish Community, Islam Community, and representatives of the Evangelist, Adventist, Reformist Christian and Baptist Churches. Commission president Goran Granic told participants the Government had appointed the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities with the aim of sufficient attention being directed towards the issue and of a joint contribution to the solving of all problems. Attendants discussed general subjects, and stressed the interests and differences of all churches and religious communities must be respected. Granic stressed the Government's goal

Expressing satisfaction with the quick approach to problems of churches and religious communities and applauding the establishment of the Government Commission, attendants stressed they had understanding for the complex economic and social situation in the country.
