LAUSANNE, March 30 (Hina) - A young Croatian artist, Ante Guberina, won Grand Prix at an international competition called "Arts and Sports", organised in Lausanne by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Being the winner of the
contest, this 27-year-old undergraduate at the Zagreb academy of arts, will also receive 30,000 U.S. dollars and has the right that his sculpture be exhibited at a great international show entitled "Arts and Sports -Sydney 2000."
LAUSANNE, March 30 (Hina) - A young Croatian artist, Ante Guberina,
won Grand Prix at an international competition called "Arts and
Sports", organised in Lausanne by the International Olympic
Committee (IOC). Being the winner of the contest, this 27-year-old
undergraduate at the Zagreb academy of arts, will also receive
30,000 U.S. dollars and has the right that his sculpture be
exhibited at a great international show entitled "Arts and Sports -

The international jury selected Guberina's work as the best out of
113 sculptures sent from 55 national Olympic committees.
Guberina's sculpture is 1.5 metre long, one metre high and 360
kilograms heavy. It is made out of aluminium and called "Olympic
Chain".
Besides Guberina, another five students of the Zagreb academy of
arts sent their works. Vesna Ostojnicki and Tanja Vujasinovic
contested in the category of sculpture and Ivana Music, Jadranka
Bastajic and Hrvoje Duvnjak sent their paintings.
