ZAGREB, March 29 (Hina) - Powers of the President of Republic will certainly decrease, Croatian National Parliament's President Zlatko Tomcic said on Wednesday in an interview he granted to the Croatian Television. In accordance with
the planned transition from a semi-presidential to parliamentary system, powers of Croatia's President will be cut substantially, Tomcic said and recalled that the coalition of six parties that won the elections had promised this change in the run-up to the polls. Asked about a possibility that a referendum be held on annulment or reduction of the presidential powers, Sabor President said the referendum could be conducted to reflect citizens' attitude and show how far changes in the presidential powers should go.
