EUROPEAN UNION TROIKA HOLDS TALKS AT CROATIAN PARLIAMENT

ZAGREB, March 28 (Hina) - A European troika on Tuesday afternoon visited the Croatian parliament where they held talks with parliament president Zlatko Tomcic and the vice president of parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, Ivo Sanader. The European Union (EU) senior delegation includes Portugal's Foreign Minister Jaime Gama, the EU high representative for foreign affairs and security issues, Javier Solana, and the French Foreign Ministry's director for Europe, Hugues Pernet. Tomcic acquainted the EU troika with parliament's upcoming legislative work, which is aimed at further democratising Croatia and resolving issues concerning the return of displaced persons and refugees to pre-war homes, and national minorities. According to a statement from parliament's public relations office, Tomcic also pointed to a consensus existing among all political factors in the country to expedite Croatia's joining
