UN SATISFIED WITH NALETILIC'S TRANSFER TO THE HAGUE

NEW YORK, March 21 (Hina) - The United Nations on Tuesday said it was pleased to hear the news about Mladen Naletilic Tuta's extradition to the Hague-based International War Crimes Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia (ICTY). A spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Fred Eckhard, confirmed on Tuesday in New York that Bosnian Croat Naletilic had been transferred from a Zagreb prison hospital to the detention centre of the Hague-based Tribunal. Eckhard reiterated that Naletilic's handover from Croatia had previously been postponed due to his serious health condition. Last month, however, Dutch doctors, hired by the ICTY, checked Tuta's health and assessed that he could fly from Zagreb to The Hague provided that there is adequate medical control and conditions in the plane during his transfer.
