GOVT ESTABLISHES OBLIGATIONS IN CRO'S APPROACHING EU

ZAGREB, March 2 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Thursday established its activities for the next two months in the implementation of a conclusion of the European Union-Croatia consultative group. The Croatian Government said that in the next two months the priority aiming at the accelerated and efficient approaching the European Union, should be changes in the legislature, the return of refugees, regional cooperation, economy, media, and cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). In legislature changes will be made, namely the passing of a new constitutional law on human rights, a law on the official use and education in languages of minorities, a law on the reconstruction, and areas of special state care. The deadline for the drawing of the law is march 20, Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan stressed. The Government also established obligations regarding the return of refugees. It demanded that a reported on the situation and problems in taking care of returnees, refugees and displaced persons be submitted within 20 days.
