The two officials expressed satisfaction with the good bilateral relations and with the opening of Azerbaijan's embassy in Croatia, with the ambassador saying that his country was interested in intensifying cooperation, notably in the economy and culture.
In this context Picula spoke of plans for President Ivo Josipovic's visit to Azerbaijan and the organisation of an Azerbaijani-Croatian economic forum.
Speaking about Croatia coming closer to accomplishing its most important strategic goal of entering the European Union, Picula said that this was also a key moment after which Croatia must diversify its foreign policy.
The Azerbaijani ambassador spoke about the situation in his country and in the Caucasus region of Eurasia.
