CRO PARLIAMENT SPEAKER MEETS BANJA LUKA BISHOP

ZAGREB, Feb 25 (Hina) - Croatian Sabor President Zlatko Tomcic on Friday held a meeting with Banja Luka Bishop Franjo Komarica, which focused on the issue of Croat and other refugees from Bosnia- Herzegovina. "Four years after the Dayton agreement, hardly 500 of 70,000 expelled Croats-Catholics from the Banja Luka diocese (in Republika Srpska) have returned to their homes," Komarica said. Komarica said that he had already informed of this the UN High Envoy in Sarajevo, who told him that the international community would this year act in a more determined manner both regarding Croatia and Bosnia's two entities. "Stabilising relations in the region, which includes Bosnia- Herzegovina and Croatia, will depend on how balanced the return of refugees in all parts of the region will be. This right (to return) must not be denied in any part of the region, including Republika Srpska," Komarica said, adding he was emphasising this frequently in his meetings with international officials. "I feel that the international community's understanding of this issue has improved significantly," Tomcic said, adding credit for this should also go to Bishop Komarica. "As the President of the Croatian National Sabor I will not give up the fundamental idea that every man has the right to his native country and home," Tomcic said. (hina) jn rml
