ZAGREB, Feb 4 (Hina) - Member of Parliament and former premier, Zlatko Matesa in a press release on Friday reflected on a statement issued by Miroslav Kutle and his spokeswoman, referring to severe political-medial manipulation. In
his statements, Matesa says, Kutle is being represented as a victim of a political process, with the aim of turning the public eye away from the true actors in the "downfall of Croatia's economy", which according to him (Kutle) are former Premier Zlatko Matesa and the director of the Croatian National Bank (NBH), Marko Skreb. Matesa reminds that the State Attorney had already dismissed charges against himself and the NBH governor which were similar to the accusations made by Kutle. Instead of introducing political-media manipulation to Croatia, Matesa suggested that Kutle should tell the truth about how and with whose support, he managed to gain ownership of the 'Tisak'
ZAGREB, Feb 4 (Hina) - Member of Parliament and former premier,
Zlatko Matesa in a press release on Friday reflected on a statement
issued by Miroslav Kutle and his spokeswoman, referring to severe
political-medial manipulation.
In his statements, Matesa says, Kutle is being represented as a
victim of a political process, with the aim of turning the public
eye away from the true actors in the "downfall of Croatia's
economy", which according to him (Kutle) are former Premier Zlatko
Matesa and the director of the Croatian National Bank (NBH), Marko
Skreb.
Matesa reminds that the State Attorney had already dismissed
charges against himself and the NBH governor which were similar to
the accusations made by Kutle.
Instead of introducing political-media manipulation to Croatia,
Matesa suggested that Kutle should tell the truth about how and with
whose support, he managed to gain ownership of the 'Tisak' company
and a series of other companies and to explain to employees of the
"Globus Group" companies where the money from these companies is.
The court is the only place where Kutle can try and explain that what
he and his political back up, did was in the interest of Croatia,
Matesa said.
Matesa reminded that the Government is an executive body which
implemented policies determined by the President and the Sabor and
that it in fact had little influence on these decisions.
Kutle though is not interested in the Constitution and law
according to which everyone is equal before the law, as he would not
have ended up where he is now, Matesa said.
It is unallowable and immoral that he (Kutle) accuses others for his
own mistakes and as such his spokeswoman should explain what she
meant by her statement to Minister Sime Lucin, "to explain on what
basis Miroslav Kutle should be arrested and not Zlatko Matesa of
Marko Skreb".
Matesa concluded that he had asked for legal advice and should Kutle
continue with his accusations, Matesa would consider instigating
civil proceedings.
