PULA, Jan 30 (Hina) - Istra County state attorney Vlatko Nuic on Sunday submitted to the Pula County Court investigating judge a request for the investigation of former tourism minister Ivan Herak and two of his business associates.
The request suggests detention for Herak and Djani Bazon, the owner of Labin-based company "Mini Pam", while Antun Golik, former assistant tourism minister and manager of Rab-based company "Imperijal", will be out on pre-trial release until further notice. The three were arrested earlier this week on suspicion that they used tourism ministry funds to settle credit commitments of "Midinvest", a company owned by Herak's wife. Nuic said today detention was suggested for Herak and Bazon after it was assessed they might influence witnesses or obstruct investigation by possibly eliminating evidence.
