VIENNA, Jan 20 (Hina) - The recent parliamentary elections in Croatia were so far the most democratic, the most correct and the best monitored, the head of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to
Croatia, Bernard Poncet, said at the OSCE Permanent Council held in Vienna on Thursday. Poncet said that the European Union, the United States, Canada and the Russian Federation welcomed the new atmosphere in Croatia. Despite the positive atmosphere, Poncet said, the message of great powers and other OSCE member-countries is that the new Government would be assessed by results it achieved and not by promises it made. The OSCE offered its support and believed that the Croatian Government could fulfil international obligations without greater funds, Poncet said.
