ZAGREB, Jan 20 (Hina) - The Croatian Party of Rights 1861 (HSP 1861) on Thursday filed charges against Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa for the misuse of official position and irresponsible performing of duties during the treatment and
illness of late President Franjo Tudjman. In a report forwarded to the Municipal State Attorney's Office in Zagreb, the party stressed Matesa had, through claims about Tudjman's good health and quick recovery, deluded and misled the public, and spread untruths to the foreign and domestic public, although he had "known President Tudjman was in bad health condition". The report said Matesa had not respected an article of the Constitution stipulating that in case of permanent disability of the president of the Republic the prime minister must initiate the president's replacement. duties during the treatment and illness of late President Franjo
Tudjman.
In a report forwarded to the Municipal State Attorney's Office in
Zagreb, the party stressed Matesa had, through claims about
Tudjman's good health and quick recovery, deluded and misled the
public, and spread untruths to the foreign and domestic public,
although he had "known President Tudjman was in bad health
condition".
The report said Matesa had not respected an article of the
Constitution stipulating that in case of permanent disability of
the president of the Republic the prime minister must initiate the

On the contrary, HSP 1861 said, Matesa had shown no interest to
apply the Constitution, but begun an anti-constitutional
initiative for the adoption of a constitutional law on the
temporary disability of the President from performing his duties,
