PULA PULA, Jan 19 (Hina) - During a pre-election rally held in the coastal town of Pula on Wednesday, Stipe Mesic, a candidate for the coming Croatian presidential election, commented on remarks of General Ljubo Cesic Rojs describing
it as "shameful lessons which General Rojs gave me teaching me what Croatian President should be like." Mesic asserted that Defence Minister Pavao Miljavac should dismiss General Rojs immediately due to such conduct. "Rojs tells me that Mostar, Ljubuski and Grude will never accept me as Croatian President, what is inadmissible, as I do not stand for office there. PULA, Jan 19 (Hina) - During a pre-election rally held in the
coastal town of Pula on Wednesday, Stipe Mesic, a candidate for the
coming Croatian presidential election, commented on remarks of
General Ljubo Cesic Rojs describing it as "shameful lessons which
General Rojs gave me teaching me what Croatian President should be
like."
Mesic asserted that Defence Minister Pavao Miljavac should dismiss
General Rojs immediately due to such conduct.
"Rojs tells me that Mostar, Ljubuski and Grude will never accept me
as Croatian President, what is inadmissible, as I do not stand for
office there. In the Croatian Army it cannot be decided who will be
Croatian President, as there is no such military junta that will
rule Croatia," Mesic told the rally commenting words of Rojs which
will be published by Thursday's issue of a daily, Mesic said.
Mesic added that to date it had never been transparent in the
Government or Sabor how many means have been earmarked from
Croatia's state budget for outside Croatia, namely for Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
This candidate claimed that Bosnian Croats were victims of a wrong
policy led by Zagreb adding that such policy brought about wrong war
against Bosnian Moslems.
Mesic believes that Croatia should help Bosnian Croats to return to
their homes and create, with assistance of international
monitoring, better standard of living.
