MOSTAR, Jan 19 (Hina) - International Police Task Force (IPTF) Commissioner in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Detlef Buwitt, dismissed the current police commander in Siroki Brijeg (southern Bosnia), Danko Bilinovac, said the Mostar-based UN
office head Stefo Lehmann on Wednesday. According to Lehmann, Buwitt on Tuesday forwarded a letter to Bilinovac notifying him of his replacement that must come into force immediately. Buwitt made such a decision as Bilinovac had threatened an observer of the IPTF, failed to cooperate in the inspection of arms and had not respected laws about custody for persons suspected of committing crimes, Lehmann told a news conference in Mostar. The dismissed police commander in Siroki Brijeg has to give back his uniform, official arms and an IPTF identity card to the Interior Ministry of Western Herzegovina Canton (in the Bosnian Federation) Lehmann added.(hina) mm ms
