in Sisak on Friday. Letica and his spokesman Branko Nadjvinski, who visited the town's central coffee-shop, discussed with other guests Letica's programme and the qualities of the second Croatian president. "I promise the Croatian people that as the President I will not sign any law, act or international agreement which would be against any Croatian citizen or state interests," Letica said. He announced that in the next several days he would meet the Croatian National Bank Governor in order to gain insight into Croatia's external and internal debts, the possibility of their rescheduling and the possibility of the country's being granted new loans. Speaking about his chances to win the elections, Letica said he saw
himself among the first three. He added that he had already
"achieved the main goal of my presidential candidacy, because new
values have been introduced into pre-electoral campaigning, there
is no mutual insulting or quarrels, and people are forced to debate
problems."
