MOSTAR, Jan 4 (Hina) - Spokesman for the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Zoran Tomic, said in Mostar Wednesday that Croatian parliamentary election results were unexpected for the party. "We expected a
significantly better electoral result for the HDZ in the elections," Tomic said. However, he added, the HDZ of Bosnia-Herzegovina was "very satisfied with the electoral results in the 11th electoral unit (the constituency for the Diaspora) as the HDZ as won about 90 per cent of votes from the electorate in Bosnia-Herzegovina". "This is excellent because the voting took place in a small number of locations where people waited more than three hours to vote," he said. the relations of the Croatian Government towards the Croat people
in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Tomcic warned that two facts should be kept in mind:
"The Croat people in Bosnia-Herzegovina has a political leadership
prepared to lead its people into the future, through every
challenge before it. Secondly, we do not believe that the new
authority in Croatia, should it have a two-thirds majority, would
change Article 10 of the Croatian constitution which speaks about
the care for the Croat people outside of Croatian borders. Both
these factors guarantee the Croats' future in Bosnia-Herzegovina,"
Tomic said.
