SPLIT, Dec 28 (Hina) - Resigned Split mayor Ivan Skaric on Friday sent a letter on behalf of the residents of Split to the president of the International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Claude Jorda, asking him to
allow general Rahim Ademi to spend the New Year holidays with his family in Split and defend himself in freedom. "I am the mayor of the 1700-year-old Croatian town of Split. As first among the equal, I convey to the President of the Hague Tribunal the wish and plea of all citizens of Split that Croatian general Ademi be allowed to spend the New Year holidays in his home in Split, surrounded by his family and friends," reads the letter.(hina) sb rml
