SPLIT MAYOR TENDERS RESIGNATION SPLIT, Dec 24 (Hina) - Split mayor Ivan Skaric and three other members of the city leadership tendered irrevocable resignations at a session of the city council on Monday, the reason being the failure
to adopt the city budget for 2002. Apart from Skaric, resignations were tendered by Ivan Pulic and Ivica Buljat of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS), and Miomir Bogdanovic, an independent councillor. Following a local election in April this year, at which the HSLS won four seats in the Split City Council, Skaric managed to form a technical city government with the assistance of the Croatian Bloc. Skaric told reporters all strings in the city government were being pulled by Zvonimir Puljic, president of the City Council and the City Committee of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
