ZAGREB, Dec 28 (Hina) - The Croatian Cultural Society (Matica Hrvatska) on Friday presented the monograph "Vukovar" - The Memorial Book of the Croatian Cultural Society on the Occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the Vukovar Tragedy
1991-2001. The book was presented by editor Josip Bratulic and art director Alfred Pal. In 1991 the entire world turned a deaf ear to a crime, world leaders took a test of humanity on the Croatian town of Vukovar but failed to pass it, and Vukovar was reduced to rubble before the eyes of the entire world, Bratulic said. Texts about the Vukovar tragedy were not inspired with hatred, they are not pamphlets or debates, but witness to a tragedy which happened to the Croat people, he said, adding the concept of sacrifice had been linked with Vukovar since its oldest monuments.(hina) sb rml
