BELGRADE, Dec 25 (Hina) - Yugoslav Foreign Minister Goran Svilanovic said on Tuesday the talks between his country and Croatia about the border "only just begun," but added that he expected them to be finished during 2002.
Svilanovic's told Belgrade's daily Nacional that the issue of return of Serb refugees "is no longer a security issue, but an economic problem". He stressed that in contacts with Croatian authorities he would assist in the realisation of some if the Serbs' property rights and tenancy rights. A big problem had been, he said, "intimidation which was the result of a non-selective arrest of certain returnees". He said there seems to now exist an opportunity for accelerating the return of Serbs to Croatia by solving some of the most important property requests of the refugee population.(hina) lml
