ZAGREB, Dec 14 (Hina) - Yugoslav Foreign Minister Goran Svilanovic met representatives of the Serb National Council (SNV) in Zagreb Friday, and informed them about the outcome of today's talks with the highest Croatian officials.
Svilanovic told reporters he met Zagreb-Ljubljana Metropolitan Jovan and representatives of non-governmental organisations in Croatia before meeting the SNV representatives. Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula, Premier Ivica Racan, President Stjepan Mesic, and a parliament deputy speaker, Zdravko Tomac, received Svilanovic during the day. Svilanovic said he was satisfied that he had finally visited Croatia, and that preparations for the visit had been rather long. He added that he held talks with representatives of the Croat community in Yugoslavia and refugees prior to his arrival. As regards today's talks, Svilanovic told journalists they focused
on the need to prosecute those responsible for war crimes, the
return of refugees, tenancy rights, the status of Croats in
Yugoslavia, missing persons, dual citizenship, borders, economic
cooperation, the fight against organised crime, a free trade
agreement, the visa regime, etc.
Svilanovic, however, stressed tenancy rights and refugee returns
would be the main topics of future discussions.
